A Selection of L Company Scrolls

During the existence of L Company 75th Infantry [Ranger}, there were many variations on the distinctive scroll worn above the 101st Airborne Eagle. The top three variations shown here are examples from the web masters collection, with the upermost being the style originally introduced by 1st SGT Bob Gilbert. For Bob's account of it's introduction, click here. If you have an example not shown here, please contact me for it's inclusion on this page.

An example from 1969-70.

Probably a late 1970 or early 71 example.

Another variation of a late style scroll. Probably 1971.

And yet another example from Bob Suchke

Two examples of the rarely seen subdued version of the scroll. I've only seen one example shown in an early 1969 photo. These type were probably gone from the unit by 70 and 71. Both from Bob Suchke.
